Scripture II

The focus of this course is on the New Testament epistles, with a particular emphasis upon St. Paul.  The objective is that participants will be able to deepen their encounter with Christ and apply what they learn to their secular commitments. Key elements in the theology of St. Paul are explored, as they relate to the formation of the first Christian communities.  The epistles challenge  our culture’s emphasis upon individualism and the tendency to regard religious faith as subjective, private, and even as esoteric, and the course emphasizes the relevance of the epistles to the challenge of evangelizing contemporary society,
