The purpose of this workshop is to introduce the participants to the structure and organization of the diocese, as well as hear directly from Bishop Soto about his evangelical vision for the Diocese. This will enable the participants to understand not only their role in the Church, but also help them tangibly experience “big Church,” and more fully appreciate the Spirit acting in and through the Bishop and his Diocese. The diocesan staff will also have the opportunity to start to get to know the participants, so that they can be better leveraged as a resource for the diocese (given their vast secular competencies and experience) in combination with their developing Catholic imagination and vigor for the faith. Ultimately, it is the first step in true co-responsibility: inculcating relationships between a well-formed and passionate laity with the institutional Church.
