The purpose of this workshop is to introduce the participants to the structure and organization of the Diocese, as well as hear directly from Bishop Michael Barber about his evangelical vision for the Diocese. This will enable the participants to understand not only their role in the Church, but also help them tangibly experience “big Church,” and more fully appreciate the Spirit acting in and through the Bishop and his governing body.  Ultimately, it is a step toward more effective co-responsibility:  inculcating relationships between a well-formed and passionate laity with the Church as institution. 

What can I expect?

Prayer, presentations, large group discussion, small group discussion,  Q&A with Fr. Michael and Sean, lunch, laughs, and soul-nourishment.

What should I bring?

A smile, and something to take notes.

Who is invited?

Lay Mission participants and alumni, and diocesan staff only. Children can come, too, but they may get pretty bored. If you plan to bring anyone, please let us know by emailing us, so we can ensure we have enough food.

Because this is a diocesan-specific workshop, there are no make-up events. 

Is there a fee?

There is no “fee,” but there is a recommended cash donation of $20/attendee to cover lunch.
